Herring Bank is currently seeking a Personal Banker to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. An individual in this position should be able to deliver a Superior Customer Experience, focused, highly organized and be able to manage time effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position of Personal Banker is to provide excellent customer service and maximize relationships with clients by soliciting, negotiating, and coordinating the closing of consumer, and small business and other assigned credits; in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures; meeting their needs with both in-person contact and as a technological resource. Develops business checking and deposit relationships with customers that meet compliance guidelines, and protect the assets of the bank.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A PERSONAL BANKER:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by performing transactions in accordance with bank
    policies and procedures
  • Create a warm, welcoming and friendly environment for customers and employees.
  • Carefully review all items presented for deposit to new accounts and perform necessary due
    diligence, including WizSentri and OFAC review , verification of funds (if possible), and placing
    holds as deemed appropriate by policy
  • Engages in business development activities and solicitation of new business; actively involved in
    instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the Bank’s products
    and services.

REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A PERSONAL BANKER:

  • Must be able to pass a background and credit check.
  • High school diploma or Equivalent; and two years of related experience and/or training; or the
    equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a
    cash handling and/or customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training
    sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial
    industry related.
  • Gathers and analyzes all information necessary to present a financing request to senior
    management or Loan Committee for approval; meets with existing or potential customers; visiting
    sites of borrowers ; negotiates loan terms and conditions; approves loans within established
    lending limits or refers and recommends acceptance to the Market President or Loan
    Committee.
  • Must have current NMLS # or willing to obtain in a reasonable period of time as determined
    by the bank.
